How Much Does C.R. England Suck

If you don't know already C.R. England really sucks..

You might be wondering why I would say such a thing, well the reason is simple I use to drive truck for them. So I can speak because I have first hand experience with them. Other driver who have worked with them would also agree. In all fairness though some people continue to work with them year after year, and they have their own reasons for doing so.

That being said there is also a great many of drivers who quit on a daily basis, because they too have had enough. Enough? Enough of what, let me continue, its is true that C.R. England has been around for over 88 years, and I don't know how they keep in business though, when the the driver screw program is in full swing. So the deal that C.R.England pushes down every body's throat is there lease program, I went through the orientation program, it lasted a good three days of preaching the lease program, then about one day of talking about the real everyday working of the trucking business, as it pertains to C.R. England. Hardly any balance there, well the lease program that they shove down every bodies throat is very one-sided, and as you might guess its one-sided favoring the company of C.R.England.

They talk about the lease program as if its the best deal they have in the company, and like a idiot I bought into this Bull-Shit story for almost 3 months before I had to quit. I couldn't afford to keep paying C.R. England to have a job. Wait a minute surely that was a typo? No its not a typo, its for real. Here is the story the preach so hard about. If you drive 3000 miles a week you can make a descent paycheck every week. 3000 miles a week is about 428 miles every day, which is possible, "Sometimes". In the trucking business the more miles you run, the more money you can make, and some make a very good living as a truck driver. As I have before when I had been working for a good descent company "Systems/TWT" a trucking company out of the northwest.

Now on the other side of the coin is a different story DOT, and the Federal dept of highway safety, does their best to limit the hours you can drive, during the day, and how many hrs you can work with in a week, this isn't necessarily a bad thing because who wants a truck driver who is so tried from driving, that he falls a sleep at the wheel. This happens all to often as it is now, even with the rules and regulations that are currently in place to limit the hrs we put in, as drivers.

So now you know why we try to drive as many miles as we can, and why we are also limited to how many miles/ hrs we can out into our day, and our week. Now when you also consider the some of our day we are sitting around not making any money, waiting to get loaded, or emptied out. Perhaps we are sitting because the dispatcher have left for the day, and we are stuck just sitting for the rest of the day, and sometimes sitting over the week-end. putting it all together getting that many miles is difficult to do consistently, in my 3 moths with C.R. England I have only done that twice. Which brings up the question, what happens if you don't get the miles? Well my friend that means you get NOTHING on your paycheck, or very little, I had three pay checks where I got ZERO-NOTHING to take home, in fact they said I owed them money.

Whoa, that is something you don't expect when you are *away from your home, *doing the job, and *losing sleep, trying to makes ends meet. When you work for somebody you expect that their should be a paycheck for the work you do, well if you bought into this Bull-Shit Story about how great the lease program is, you could easily go broke, here's how. C.R. England pushes the lease program so hard because favor's them so much how could they go wrong as a company? (I will explain that shortly). The lease program in a nut shell is roughly $454.00 per week, plus Insurance at $168.00 per week, these are fixed cost you pay every week, weather you drive 3000 miles per week or you drive nothing that week. So if you have any ideas about going home it will cost you, hard. Your also paying for the fuel the truck uses, at a $1.25 a gallon (this is a deal for lease operators, perhaps the only plus of working for these crooks).and you also get to pay C.R. England .14 cents per mile that you drive hauling their loads. They nickle and dime you other things as well, but these things I just mentioned is what will put you in the poor house .

As a lease operator, C.R. England buys the truck you drive, you make the weekly pmts on the truck that they keep, you pay the insurance on their truck, and you pay C.R. England for every mile you put on the truck. By the way did I mention even though you are making truck pmts, paying the insurance on the truck, and paying the company for the miles you put on the truck, you don't get to keep the truck that truck belongs to C.R. England, you get nothing for all the pmts you made on the truck. As you can see how this is very one sided, and as a added plus they will remind you that that if you get enough log book violations you will lose your job. Yet they will push you to drive as much as they can to get the loads covered, and on time, which is the nature of the business. If you think about the dispatcher don't really care if you get the tickets, or the log book violations because it is you that will have to pay the price not them, maybe they will get yelled at a bit, but it is you who lose the job, and pay the fine, not them.

I had a log book violation a few years ago, it cost me $420.00 bucks, and I had to pay it not those jack-asses who are pushing you to do your job. I learned then and there that it doesn't make any sense to run illegal log books, but the trade off is I don't get the 3000 miles per week, I end up only getting 2000 to 2500 miles per week. Which means in C.R.England world, I don't get a paycheck, I go broke, and I did. I simply can not afford to work for a company such as C.R.England. I know I am not alone in thinking this way, as countless many before me, and surely the will be plenty more other driver will learn the same thing as I have, and that is C.R.England SUCKS.

So in my driving with C.R.England, I tried to run as legal as I could, tried to communicate with dispatch as much as I could as to weather I could take the load, or not. What hours I had avail, and other issues that came up along the way, and what did I get in return a ass chewing about how I can do my job. I can do my job I have been a driver for over 5yrs, I know what I have to do, how to do my job, how to be safe, and how to run a legal log book, I can do my job. What I cant do is spend that much time on the road trying to make a living, and then be bitched out by some lame-ass, jack-ball, trying to belittle me because I wasn't going to run illegal which is what I would have had to do to get the miles. Believe I wanted the miles, and needed to make the money they pretend to promise, but I also had to do the right way, the legal way.

So in a nut shell I couldn't afford to work for these ass-holes any longer, and I doubt any one could for any length of time. Guess I should have picked this up during orientation when the instructor said "if you don't want to be here I don't care, leave, I will have another 30 drivers in here next week" which is true, every week they are running almost that many people through the class, they will weed out those who don't go along with the program, and others will quit after they see how this scam works out to screw the drivers. It would be great for any company to grow by at least 30 people per week , but the aren't really growing the company like that most of these new people are just replacements for those who have told C.R.England to "GO FUCK THEMSELVES", as I have.

If you decide that maybe I am lying, and you want to find out for yourself then by all means go for it, but at least do yourself a favor and try the company driver program, before even considering the lease program, trust me, you will thank me later.

Lastly in closing, just in case you missed it some how, C.R. England SUCKS, and that is the bottom line.............

Here is another link for you to review, just in case you think I am taking this too far, read these other complaints and I bet you will change your mind about these basters..
